Season 11's been a weird one in the best way. People log in thinking they'll just do the usual rotation, then someone in clan chat swears they found a portal that "shouldn't exist." You go looking, half expecting it to be nonsense, and then you realise the rumor's real. Once you've got the set, you don't mash them together in your inventory. You physically take each purified item to a hidden altar in the region linked to that Evil. It feels almost like an old questline Blizzard forgot to tell anyone about. The nice part is it tracks your progress, so you can slot one item, log off, come back later, and you're not starting over. When you place the fourth, a red portal opens on the spot with nothing but question marks, which is the game basically saying, "Yep, you sure about this."
Inside is a straight-up endgame gauntlet. Phase one throws Uber Andariel and Uber Belial at you together, so you're dealing with overlapping mechanics and no clean space to reset. If you make it through, it doesn't give you a victory lap. Phase two hits immediately with Uber Duriel and Uber Azmodan, and they're tuned like trucks with health bars that don't move unless your damage and uptime are real. It's the kind of fight that exposes "almost tanky" builds fast. Most folks I know won't even bother trying it under Torment IV.
Drop Azmodan and the Hoard of Damnation chest shows up, and the headline reward is a guaranteed Resplendent Spark plus the Shield Crest of Exile mount trophy. You'll also see a shower of uniques, greater affixes, and boss mats, but the Spark and cosmetic are one-time per account for the season, so don't expect repeats. You can still rerun it to help friends or just chase loot, though.
